My name is Jeremy Lai. When I was just 6 years old, I was kicked out of my first art studio class for drawing a dinosaur instead of an apple. My instructor then told me I needed to draw an apple, so I complied and drew a dinosaur eating an apple. I tell you this story because it accurately portrays who I am as a person and even more as a designer.

 

Growing up I was raised in a family of creatives. My mother is an interior designer, and my father is a mechanical engineer.  I love designing to innovate; my passion for art extends beyond my ability to draw, paint and create. I believe in a brighter future that uses the power of story telling and emotional rapport to transcend the world and build up people throughout society.

As a designer I am extremely driven and I love to question everything. Challenging the status quo has become second nature to me as I often find myself discontent with settling for the average. Alongside being a creative, I loved to play every type of sport. Being an athlete has certainly influenced the way I approach design. I love to compete and thus builds my work ethic and my drive for innovation. Merging the way I design with how I approach my daily life has made me the unique person that I am today.
