the environment you run in plays a huge role in the sensations you feel, whether grass, road, or mud, getting comfortable and soaking in the environment allows you to feel the sensations of a trail run.

functionally, your footwear of choice should serve as a supportive role in your endeavor, allowing you to focus on your environment and surroundings. fat tire chooses to do away with the spring blades and tells the story of a bike soaking up and rolling through the obstacles in the terrain.

running is a form of exploration, and when you no longer feel the need to please a time, coach, or record, you can become fully in tune with the sensations around you
THE THREE RULES TO CREATING THE MOST SENSATIONAL TRAIL SHOES
STRESS FREE
washable, cleanable hydrophobic materials for trails, mud, and a variety of terrain. each shoe should convey a "tough" exterior, built for all conditions
TERRAIN
terrain adaptation is crucial in all layers of the shoe. outsole geometry allows max surface are to wrap and grip terrain, similar to a 29er
THE LINEUP
three shoe lineup designed for the capabilities of each condition:

noguchi is a japanese sculptor that believed in the idea of ambiguity using simple form and functional elements spread throughout his work to be approached and discovered
he uses simple forms in his "playgrounds" carrying fun and bulbous shapes that allows viewers to interact and alleviate their stress and anxiety
his ambiguous "playgrounds" allow users to get lost in the environment. noguchi designs his work unapologetically giving people a sense of exploration when interacting with his work

we looked to design around his work, using it to inspire us to create a line of footwear that will truly allow the user to have fun and get lost
